TP Jones & Co has established itself as one of the premier  rural retailers in the state. Established in 1985, we are conveniently located at Youngtown in Launceston, Longford, Latrobe and Tas Ag Services in Campbell Town.

As members of Australia’s largest independent buying group, Combined Rural Traders (CRT), we have both the access and buying power of a broad range of products. CRT has over 300 affiliated stores across the country, which encumbers fertiliser, livestock, wool and real estate. The support of CRT allows TP Jones & Co to have all the benefits of a large company whilst keeping our activities local.

Our involvement in agriculture extends from servicing the private rural sector right through to being key supplier to many corporate and government businesses. Our key markets are varied and we believe that by being a customer driven organisation it allows us to gain the necessary expertise in whatever enterprise our client should enter.

Our key markets include Beef, Sheep, Wool, Dairy, Horticulture, Pasture, Cereal Cropping and Viticulture. TP Jones & Co provides a range of goods and services into these markets.

The staff of TP Jones & Co are committed to maintaining the company as an important supplier to these markets and as such believe our package of Service, Supply and Competitive Pricing allows us to become and remain a key supplier to all forms of agriculture in Tasmania.

In April 2016, TP Jones & Co announced a joining of forces with Tas Ag Services.  This coming together of two fiercely independent, Tasmanian owned companies represents an important step in remaining a relevant part of Rural Supplies and Service in Tasmania.

Both organisations have evolved from solid local foundations and as such both organisations believe that this merger will re-enforce this.

In May 2016, TP Jones announced an arrangement with Landmark to take over the operations of their Latrobe Store at 1 Speedway Drive. This is a great opportunity to improve the service to their North West customers with a great store at the gateway to the coast.

This is a very exciting phase for TP Jones & Co as we  plan to build a more efficient network of rural supply stores that will enable our customers to achieve their agricultural goals.

March 1st 2017 the sale of TP Jones was announced  to CRT parent company Ruralco Holdings Ltd. Ruralco is a leading Australian agribusiness with more than forty specialist businesses operating across its network. Through considered, strategic ventures, Ruralco has established a strong business platform that caters to the diverse needs of rural and regional Australia. The business will continue to operate under the TP Jones & Co brand as we continue to offer a range of unique products & services that will maintain our position in the market. In an ever-changing market, this coming together will provide continued opportunity for growth and inevitably deliver efficiencies in our business and our path to market as well as expanded product & service offerings.
